A little trip to Mexico...

One night Anika was looking through an album of postcards and found a picture of Dad Dick with his marlin he caught in Mexico and the next day my mom posted the rest of these pics on FB! It was so cool that we were enjoying these memories on the same day.
When I was 7 years old I got to Mexico with my family. My grandpa and grandma had a time share condo in Mazatlan. I was in 1st grade and I dont remember being all that excited about the trip but now looking back I cherish the memories. It was almost like a family reunion because there were so many of us that went. Grandpa Phil, Grandma Lou, Aunt Teri, Uncle Roger, Delaine and Rick Oaks, my mom, Dad Dick and I went.

This is my beautiful Grandma Lou relaxing and enjoying the day.

This is my grandpa and I dancing in the red dress he looked all over Mazatlan for.

My mom... love the hair!

This is the marlin that my Dad caught when we went deep sea fishing, I have never been that sea sick before in my life!

This is me posing on the wall that seperated our patio from the beach. It was so awesome.

This is a picture that always makes me cry because I miss my grandpa so much! he taught me how to float on this trip, I was always begging him to go tot he pool!

Aunt Teri in the kitchen.

Rick and Delaine checking out this crazy girl drinking her virgin daquari. I thought I was so cool!

I was trying to hit the pinata but I dont think I broke it!

Baby Shower

Yesterday my family threw me a little baby shower. It was so much fun even though we didn't have many people attend. We played some fun games that Leslie made and had some wonderful food and fun decor from my mom and Aunt Teri. I got some wonderful blankets that I will cherish and can't wait to use! Enjoy the pix!

My mom won the Don't forget about Daddy quiz. It was a bunch of questions about Clint and what he said when he found out we were expecting. My favorite questions on there were the ones about what he wanted the baby to get from me and from himself. He wants the baby to have my smarts and his sense of humor! Let's all hope those don't get switched at birth!

Here is my Aunt Teri. She is such an awesome woman!

Here are Julie and Delaine chilling. Julie won the scrambled baby words we did.

Here are Anika, my step mom Carmen, and my Grandma Donna.

My most awesomest cousin Leslie (those were her words)!

Here is my wonderful friend Amanda opening her gift for the Nursery Rhyme game with some assistance from Heber.

This brown and pink blanket was made by Delaine and I just love the patterns to it!

My Aunt Ruth made this quilt with the purple minkie on the back and the ladybugs and frogs on the front! I am tempted to use it for myself!

This is a blanket that Carm bought the material to make and then found another blanket with the same material so she bought it too!

This is a blanket that I helped Carm start waaaaaay back when I was pregnant with Anika and we never ever got it finished. Carm made up the border on it and suprised me with this gift at the shower, and I love it!

This is Heber checking out the Winnie the Pooh gift sets I got!

Anika loves the tutu Delaine made for the baby! Now all my girls have tutus and I will have to post pics of them!

All in all it was a wonderful shower and we had a good time. Now who is coming over to put all of this stuff away for me??

Girls Trip

When my Grandma Lou turned 75, we decided to plan a girls trip. We decided to go down to Zion National Park and just hang out in southern Utah for a few days. My Grandma Lou, Aunt Teri, my cousin Leslie and my grandma's friend La Rue were the only ones that could go but we had a blast! Out trip started out going to Salt Lake to drop off a car and then down to Springdale Utah. Our hotel was right outside of the Zion National Park and even the views from our hotel window were AWESOME! On Saturday there were chances of rain so we decided to drive into St George and do some shopping and head into Mesquite to do a little bit of gambling. It was fun! Then Sunday morning we decided to drive through Zion before coming home to our families. All in all it was a great trip and I can't wait to do it again!

Wordless Wednesday 10.15.08

This picture is from our Halloween party last year. Back row: Pirate Man, Granny Scarecrow, Larry Shiver me timbers, and Cryin Teri the clown. Front Row: AJ stegosaurus, Brashae the unhappy dragon, and Maci Fairytopia!
This party is a new tradition we have started and the kids love it. We all go trick or treating and then gather at my aunt's for dinner and games! We are all looking forward to this year's party!
